In 2000, the Prohibition of Discrimination in Products, Services and Access to Entertainment and Public Places Law, 5761-2000, was enacted. This law prohibits certain public venue owners and service providers from discriminating against individuals based on a specified list of grounds.
The law was initiated by the Association for Civil Rights in response to prevalent discrimination in nightclub entry. Therefore, it is also known as the “Selection Law.”
