The law lists 11 factors qualifying for a postponement during the “relevant period” or part thereof. Currently, the relevant period refers to the days between October 7, 2023, and November 7, 2023.

There are 99 localities currently covered by the ordinance. However, the list may be reduced or expanded depending on the ongoing conflict and the situation on the ground.

The Payment Deadlines Postponement Law (Temporary Order – Iron Swords) (Contract, Court Ruling or Payment to Authority), 2023 sets out the circumstances under which certain groups are eligible to postpone certain payments.

During times of security crisis, many property owners rent their properties to evacuees from risk areas. In the context of Operation Iron Swords, many people have been displaced. This is either because their homes were damaged making them uninhabitable; or because they had to evacuate for security reasons.

However, while the intention is to assist, the needs of both parties must be considered. Evacuees will benefit from a lenient and short-term contract; and property owners will maintain their property rights.
